Citizens' Elections Bill of Rights (CEBOR)
What is CEBOR?
-
The Citizens' Elections Bill of Rights is a pledge to enforce the exclusive rights of United States Citizens to vote in American elections. We believe it naturally follows from our Federal and State constitutions that the right to vote is exclusive to legal citizens of the country, and any attempt to cast or count ballots outside of this limitation undermines the unique freedoms afforded by our system of government.
-
It is a promise to respect a list of priorities regarding how elections are conducted. These are necessary requirements for a secure and trustworthy election, such as:
-
Maintaining ballot chain of custody
-
Reliably proving the identity of voters
-
Securing election technology
-
Enforcing retention of election records
-
-
It is also a pledge to mandate proper maintenance of the voter rolls. Registration is the government's recognition of a citizen's right to vote. Illegitimate registrations dilute the rights of every legitimate voter, while obsolete registrations via unmaintained voter rolls represent an opportunity for ballot stuffing.
-
By signing this pledge, candidates agree to be all-in for the practical election integrity solutions contained therein, and make themselves accountable to represent these issues for the American people in their respective office.
Who Should Pledge?
-
Candidates that are serious about solving the present issues in Michigan's election process and want to broadcast that to the American people. Fair elections are a non-partisan issue, and PIME will recognize signatories regardless of party affiliation.
Why Should You Pledge?
-
Because, by signing this pledge, you add to the force of a growing election integrity movement determined to secure the voting rights of every citizen. We believe that a public declaration of support for these commonsense solutions is necessary to effectively represent the American people.
