Friends,
As you are probably aware, the Lame Duck legislature is in a mad rush to push through election-integrity harming bills before the shift in majority happens in January.
This communication is meant to inform you about legislation that is being considered to give driver's licenses to noncitizen residents of Michigan.
Yes, Michigan law makers are pushing bills forward to do this, right now. Senate Bills 265-267 and House Bills 4410-4412 aim to do just that, to allow noncitizens to obtain state IDs and Driver's Licenses. Driver's licenses are, of course, the most common method to both register to vote and to vote in person at the polls.
You may also know about House Bill 4983, which was passed last December and allows automatic voter registration when applying for a Driver's License.
And you may further know that Michigan had a high profile case of a Chinese student (non-citizen) voting in our last election in Ann Arbor. See link here:

Please let your Senators and Representatives know your concerns about these bills. And please do so soon. The last day of session this year is next Thursday, December 19, but these bills could pop up for a vote within the next day or two.
Please contact your legislators and let them know how you feel!
You can use the links below to help you contact your legislators if you don't currently know how.
You are invited. This Saturday please join us for the PIME Christmas party, in person in Stockbriidge.
