Legislative Alert: Non-Citizens to be Automatically Registered to Vote Once HB 4983 Takes Effect

Could a non-citizen's routine visit to the Secretary of State violate MCL?
Previously passed bill, HB 4983, scheduled to take effect June 30th, will mandate that any government organization that collects enough information to register a person to vote must do so. The information required for registration is not sufficient to verify citizenship, opening the door for non-citizens to be registered illegally, against their will.
To add insult to injury, the bill makes provisions to reduce the liability of persons illegally registered and requires proof of non-citizenship to avoid becoming incorrectly registered to vote.
What a loophole!
