Join the PIME Tour of Michigan: Watch Elections the Lawful Way

Pure Integrity Michigan Elections invites volunteers to document irregular election activities and election sites across the state from today through Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Michigan voters will choose their leaders on November 3, 2026. Pure Integrity Michigan Elections (PIME) is asking residents to help keep watch over how the election runs: in public, within the law, and without getting in anyone's way.

What is the PIME Tour of Michigan?

The Tour is a statewide volunteer campaign that runs from today through Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Volunteers will visit key election sites, such as city and township clerk offices, and take photos and short videos. PIME's goal is deterrence. When the public is visibly paying attention, anyone thinking about breaking election rules is less likely to try.

Everyone is welcome. Volunteers, neighbors, and members of the public can all take part. All footage is recorded, not live-streamed.

How to Take Part

  1. Visit a site that is open to the public, such as a clerk's office or a warehouse where election supplies are stored.

  2. Take a photo or record a short video.

  3. Note where you were, when you were there, and what the footage shows.

  4. Email or text everything to TourOfMichigan@proton.me.

PIME will sort submissions by place and date, then review them. Captions and audio will be helpful and educational.

Where will Volunteers Go?

The Tour's priority list covers 12 counties and about 30 cities and townships. Twelve places are marked "high interest," including Detroit, Grand Rapids, Flint, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Muskegon, and Benton Harbor. The list also covers offices, warehouses, hotels, gas stations, and grocery stores in places that have been reported to have an irregular election history.

PIME built the list from its own review of 2020 records, including the party makeup of election inspectors and the work of registration-drive contractors. Statewide coverage depends on how many volunteers sign up.

Know the Facts

Some of PIME's focus comes from GBI Strategies, a voter-registration company. In 2020, a police report in Muskegon described suspicious registration forms. Analysis of the activities of this group indicate a highly organized and well-funded election operation that was active across Michigan and other states.

This group logged over 7,900 hours of canvassing across nine cities in Michigan in 2020 and 104 packages filled with suspicious registrations, as reported by clerks across Michigan. Michigan State Police even conducted warranted searches at three critical GBI Strategies’ locations in the cities of Muskegon Heights, Grand Haven, and Southfield in October 2020.

Follow the Rules

PIME's ground rules are strict, and they are the heart of this campaign:

  • Report what you see, not what you guess. An "observed irregularity" is not the same as a "verified violation." Use plain words and stick to the facts.

  • Never photograph ballots or people voting. Michigan protects the secrecy of the ballot.

  • Respect polling place limits. A summary of Michigan guidance says other photography and video are not allowed within 100 feet of a polling place on Election Day. Rules can change, so check with the local clerk before filming near any voting site.

  • Follow the clerk's rules. Introduce yourself, and if staff ask you to stop filming or leave, do so politely.

  • Never get in anyone's way. Voter intimidation is illegal. The Michigan Attorney General's election protection page lists blocking an entrance to a polling place or early voting site as an example. Don't crowd voters, argue with staff, or follow people. Maintain a safe distance. Record good things as well as suspected irregularities.

A Word on Courtesy

Photographing election buildings can raise questions. Staff may wonder why you are filming, so be open about who you are. Keep visits short and have a friendly answer ready: "I'm a volunteer with the PIME Tour of Michigan, taking a quick photo for a public record." Maintain a safe distance. This article is general information, not legal advice.

Ready to Help?

Elections work best when people trust them. Careful, lawful, honest observation can help build that trust, and it can show when everything is running as it should. To join the Tour, email TourOfMichigan@proton.me.
