Thanksgiving and Fanfare for Pure Integrity Michigan Elections. America Prevailed Because of You!

Patrice Johnson

Chair, Pure Integrity Michigan Elections

November 27, 2024

For those of us who have been battling to bring back confidence in America’s elections, this holiday season will be particularly sweet. We know the battle is not over, but we have regained an important foothold, and indeed, a new level of confidence in our just cause.

It is entirely appropriate that we should celebrate what we, by the grace of the good Lord, have accomplished. Part of any celebration is a recounting, with giving thanks, of accomplishments achieved. In the victories listed below, you’re also likely recognize areas in which you and fellow co-workers’ played a role. You will see the fruits of your labor.

Perhaps the greatest of all our accomplishments was PIME’s cohesion as an organization throughout the fluid and stress-filled past few months. As we give thanks for our families, friends, and blessings, let us also give thanks for one another, for the cohesion that made possible the accomplishments below. Please know your efforts are valued and vital.

PIME’s mission is to help restore fair and unbiased elections in Michigan through local task force coalitions, legislative action, and litigation.

Communication and Messaging

Communication with volunteers and interested citizens occurs regularly through Pure Integrity Michigan Elections' (PIME) weekly News@Noon round-ups via WebEx, and committee meetings. Participation in these meetings is strong and reflects solid volunteer commitment.

Election Inspector and Poll Challenger Recruitment Program

After this year’s primary with its 8:1 ratio of Democrat to Republican poll workers, PIME teamed with the Michigan Conservative Coalition to launch a recruitment program that yielded 1,075 expressions of interest in serving as paid Detroit election inspectors, 437 applications, and 180 hires. Election officials were shocked. Another 144 people volunteered to serve as unpaid poll challengers on Election Day.

Other PIME Activities

PIME volunteers made a special effort to help underserved voters cast their ballots. More than 10,000 letters were sent to homebound seniors and others, educating them on the importance of their vote and explaining how to request an absentee ballot. In addition to the letter campaign, volunteers knocked on doors on the west side of the state to engage underserved voters.

In anticipation of election day, PIME trained new election inspectors, holding sessions right up to the last minute to ensure Republicans and Democrats were equally represented.

Legislative Education and Analysis

On the legislative front, when Michigan’s Democrat-controlled legislature tried to use the lame duck session to push through legislation that would make Michigan a member of the National Popular Vote Compact, PIME sounded the alarm, resulting in 1700 phone calls to legislators, urging them to vote NO, against joining the Compact. For now, the National Popular Vote bill has been pulled, thanks to PIME volunteers.

So, join me in celebrating these remarkable accomplishments. In the coming weeks, PIME will be developing goals and strategies for 2025. Please send me your suggestions and watch for them to be published right here on our website where we publish news, commentary, and organizational information.

Thank you for your amazing support, and for your donations of your time, talents, and funding.

May God Bless America.
